Sherry Grooms, LPCC-S, LICDC


Sherry Grooms is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor-Supervisor and Independently Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor. She has over 15 years of clinical experience supporting mental health and related concerns in adults, adolescents and children within multiple environments.  Addressing difficulties with mood or anxiety, behavioral or relationship issues as well as the aftermath of trauma, Sherry excels in assisting her clients towards discovering ways to effectively use his/her own internal strengths to overcome distress.
     Always with a client-centered approach, Sherry uses a variety of counseling techniques including (CBT) Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, (DBT) Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Reality Therapy and a variety of methods using creative expression.  To address teen substance usage, Sherry provides a brief substance intervention program towards building knowledge, accountability and skills for making responsible choices.  Her early intervention program has been widely received and was originally designed in collaboration with the input of school administration and the Department of Juvenile Probation.

Veronica DeNoma, MSW, LISW-S


Veronica is a Licensed Independent Social Worker with experience working in a variety of settings including outpatient neurology, community mental health, school counseling, senior living community, and large corporate business.  She works with adults and specializes in caregiver issues, change of life, divorce, and chronic illness.  A few modalities she utilizes include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Solution Focused Therapy.  


The thoughts of going to therapy for some can be very uncomfortable.  Veronica recognizes that it takes courage and strength to pursue.  That is why she provides a safe, comfortable place for you to share your story.  She listens with kindness, compassion, no judgement, and responds with authenticity and honesty.  She understands life has challenges and believes we each have the strength and ability to move and grow through them.  Veronica builds on your unique strengths to help you address your challenges and live the life you want.

We Care

Queen City Counseling Services is designed to take care of our clients during a traumatic time. That includes offering free consultations and on-going support as needed.

Sessions:

Typically 50-55 minutes.  Flexible scheduling including weekends.  Some insurance plans are accepted.  Many clients opt for the self-pay rate of  $125 per 50 min session.


PLEASE NOTE:  We are not in-network with any Medicare or Medicaid programs.  Our clinicians are only able to see clients in Ohio at the time of service.

Jenna is a Marriage and Family Therapist, as well as a Board Certified Art Therapist.  With over 15 years of experience within the field of mental health, Jenna has worked with many families, couples, and individuals. Areas of expertise include Early Childhood Mental Health, ADD/ADHD, trauma and abuse, attachment issues, parenting concerns, divorce, adoption, anxiety including OCD, depression, grief and loss, and Autism spectrum disorders.  While art therapy is frequently utilized for in-person sessions, other approaches are often used including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, behavioral interventions,, TFCBT (Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), mindfulness and relaxation.
